In 1998, Toshido MMA Founder David Lea, opened the first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu school in Kelowna. Twelve years later, David became just the third person in the World to receive his No-Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt from 3rd Degree BlackBelt and UFC Legend, Chris Brennan.

All Toshido MMA Instructors are current or former professional fighters with many years of training and real world experience. Our Instructors have proven the effectiveness of our system time and time again, utilizing our techniques in the cage and in the ring – at the national and international level since 1998.
